Document Annotation Specialist – Remote (up to $30/hr)

About the role

We are looking for a meticulous Document Annotation Specialist to work remotely on a contract basis. You will help improve AI extraction quality by reviewing PDFs, validating JSON outputs, and ensuring data accuracy.

Key responsibilities

• Receive and analyze source PDF documents together with AI‑generated JSON extractions and predefined schemas.
• Perform field‑by‑field comparisons, correcting discrepancies and errors.
• Validate complex data, including mathematical accuracy of line‑item totals, summaries, and cross‑references.
• Review, annotate, and verify hundreds of fields per document with high attention to detail.
• Document and escalate ambiguous cases while collaborating with the team to improve processes.
• Identify edge cases and annotation challenges to enhance AI extraction quality.

Required profile

• Proven experience in data annotation, document review, QA, or proofreading with a focus on precision.
• Strong English reading comprehension for dense, multi‑page PDFs, tables, and financial data.
• Working knowledge of JSON structures and ability to verify values within nested schemas.
• Exceptional attention to detail, capable of checking hundreds of fields without errors.
• Comfort with basic mathematical operations and validations.
