Domestic Heating Breakdown Engineer

About the role

We are recruiting an experienced Domestic Heating Breakdown Engineer to join an established heating and plumbing business serving Birmingham and surrounding areas. You will attend domestic properties to carry out boiler breakdowns, fault finding, servicing and emergency heating and plumbing repairs.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair boiler breakdowns and perform fault finding.
• Service domestic boilers and carry out emergency plumbing and heating repairs.
• Trace leaks, access difficult locations and complete basic plumbing repairs.
• Work across a variety of boiler manufacturers and produce reports, photographs and Gas Safe documentation.
• Participate in a weekend rota and deliver excellent customer service.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years’ experience in boiler breakdown and repair.
• Strong domestic heating and plumbing knowledge.
• Experience with multiple boiler manufacturers and relevant certifications (CCN1, CENWAT, CKR1, HTR1, G3 Unvented Hot Water).
• NVQ Level 2 Plumbing or City & Guilds equivalent, or substantial relevant experience.
• Full UK driving licence and strong fault‑finding skills.
