About the role
The NHS Highland Transport Department is seeking a reliable Driver to support the delivery of essential services across the Highland region. You will operate a range of vehicles, ensuring timely transport of laundry, mail, medical equipment, specimens and supplies to hospitals, GP practices, health centres and care homes.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver laundry, mail, medical equipment, specimens and supplies to a variety of NHS facilities.
- Operate vehicles up to 7.5‑tonne LGV safely and in compliance with all regulations.
- Maintain accurate delivery records and adhere to scheduled routes.
- Ensure vehicles are kept clean, serviced and road‑worthy.
Required profile
- Experienced driver familiar with transport regulations, Health & Safety, COSHH, Road Risk and Moving and Handling Regulations.
- Organised, highly motivated with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Friendly, helpful attitude and good knowledge of the local and Highland areas.
- Valid Category B driving licence (Category C1 preferred).
- Preferably holds an up‑to‑date Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (DCPC) and a valid tachograph digicard.
