Early Career Teacher – Flexible Secondary Placements

About the role
We are seeking Secondary Early Career Teachers (ECTs) who want flexible, short‑term placements across schools in Chester and the surrounding North West England area. This role lets you deliver pre‑planned lessons without the pressure of planning, marking or extensive preparation, giving you valuable classroom experience on your own terms.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver engaging, pre‑planned lessons across a range of secondary subjects and year groups.
- Create a positive, supportive, and productive classroom environment.
- Apply effective behaviour management techniques in line with school policies.
- Support department colleagues and provide helpful feedback to the regular teacher at the end of the day.
Required profile
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or a recognised UK teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, BEd).
- Strong classroom management skills and a passionate, adaptable attitude.
- An Enhanced Child DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply with assistance).
- The right to work in the UK.
