Ecologist – Environmental Consultancy

About the role

An experienced Ecologist is needed to join a growing environmental consultancy operating across the South East. The role involves delivering high‑quality ecological services on a diverse portfolio of infrastructure, utilities, property and environmental management projects.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and undertake protected‑species surveys, including UKHA, PEAs and species‑specific work.
• Produce technical reports, Ecological Impact Assessments and method statements.
• Design and oversee mitigation strategies for project sites.
• Act as an Ecological Clerk of Works (ECoW) when required.
• Support project managers and liaise with clients, stakeholders and regulators.
• Mentor and support junior ecologists.

Required profile

• Degree in Ecology, Environmental Science or a related discipline.
• Several years’ consultancy experience.
• Strong knowledge of UK wildlife legislation and planning policy.
• Full UK driving licence.
• CIEEM membership (or working towards it).
