ED Specialty Doctor / Registrar

About the role

The Emergency Department at Queen Alexandra Hospital is seeking an ED Specialty Doctor / Registrar to join a consultant‑led service in a brand‑new state‑of‑the‑art facility. You will provide 24/7 clinical cover, support high‑quality patient care and contribute to the education of junior staff.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver direct clinical care across a busy emergency department, including weekends and nights.
• Provide senior presence on the shop floor, supporting junior doctors and nurses.
• Participate in the department’s professional activities, both clinical and supporting.
• Contribute to service development and quality improvement initiatives.
• Work within a full‑time 42‑hour contract, with options for CESR‑aligned professional activities.

Required profile

• Qualified medical doctor with experience in emergency medicine or a related acute specialty.
• Willingness to work a 42‑hour week, including nights and weekends.
• Commitment to patient safety, high‑quality care and continuous learning.
• Interest in pursuing CESR or further professional development within emergency medicine.
