EHS Manager

About the role

Our client, a leading European manufacturer of food‑based packaging, is seeking an experienced EHS Manager to oversee health, safety and environmental compliance across its Keighley and Sedgefield sites. This full‑time, on‑site position reports to the Operations Director and plays a key part in maintaining a safe, compliant workplace.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, maintain and review risk assessments and safe operating procedures for both sites.
• Conduct regular site inspections to ensure ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 standards are met.
• Lead in‑house health & safety training for managers and staff.
• Record incidents, produce statistics and present findings at monthly H&S meetings.
• Stay up‑to‑date with HSE legislation and advise on fire regulations, hazardous substances, noise, machinery safeguarding and occupational diseases.
• Drive environmental initiatives, monitor waste reduction and act as the primary contact for environmental services.

Required profile

• NEBOSH certification.
• Proven experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably managing dual sites.
• Excellent communication, organisational and influencing skills.
• Flexible approach to working hours, including occasional training sessions.
