Electrical Engineer - Contract, City of London

About the role

Smart Managed Solutions is recruiting an Electrical Engineer for a contract in the City of London, working on an exciting project. The schedule is 07:00-16:00 and 10:00-19:00, Monday to Friday. The company helps organisations across the UK keep their facilities running safely, efficiently and sustainably, offering structured training and clear progression routes.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventive maintenance (PPM), reactive and breakdown work on all electrical systems on site
• Ensure routine PPM is completed on all electrical plant in line with site schedules and asset lists
• Complete reactive tasks across the building, including concessionary stores and fabric items, and highlight areas for improvement
• Remedy plant faults and defects promptly to maintain serviceability
• Keep the computer-based maintenance system (e.g. Concept, Smart Hub) updated and close out PPM and reactive tickets accurately
• Complete paperwork for reactive and breakdown works and pass it to the contract administrator without delay
• Prepare and use method statements and risk assessments for all tasks
• Keep all smart-managed plant rooms locked, clean and tidy

Required profile

• Formal training in City and Guilds Electrical Installations or the equivalent NVQ and Building Services maintenance
• 18th Edition BS7671 City and Guilds
• Experience in a similar role

Required skills

• Knowledge of air conditioning, UPS, generators and low voltage (LV) systems
• Ability to fault-find using graphical information and alarm data
