Electrician – Estates Maintenance

About the role

The Electrician – Estates Maintenance role is a full‑time, on‑site position at Concord College’s 80‑acre campus near Shrewsbury. You will be responsible for electrical installation, maintenance and repair across a range of school buildings and facilities, ensuring safety, compliance and reliability.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical faults in a multi‑building campus environment.
• Carry out planned and reactive electrical maintenance and repair work.
• Support estates projects, including refurbishments and upgrades of electrical systems.
• Maintain accurate records of work performed and follow health‑and‑safety procedures.
• Respond to urgent maintenance requests and participate in an on‑call rota when required.

Required profile

• Recognised electrical qualification (e.g., NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds) and relevant industry certifications such as the 18th Edition wiring regulations.
• Proven experience maintaining and repairing electrical systems in a multi‑building or campus setting.
• Strong understanding of health and safety legislation, risk assessment and safe systems of work.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of the wider Estates team.
• Experience in an educational, residential or similar environment is an advantage.
