Electrician - Social Housing

About the role

We are seeking a qualified Electrician to join the Responsive Repairs Team of a leading South housing provider. The permanent, full‑time position involves delivering high‑quality electrical repairs and installations across occupied residential properties throughout the South.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out responsive electrical repairs and emergency call‑outs.
• Diagnose faults, perform minor rewires and upgrades, and replace accessories such as sockets, switches and consumer units.
• Ensure all work complies with BS 7671 Wiring Regulations.
• Provide exceptional customer service while working in occupied homes.
• Record jobs accurately using mobile technology.
• Participate in an out‑of‑hours on‑call rota (approximately one week in every six).

Required profile

• NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation (or equivalent) and AM2 qualification.
• Proven experience in domestic electrical repairs and fault finding.
• Familiarity with NICEIC certification software or similar.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage workload.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Desirable: experience in social housing or residential maintenance and knowledge of responsive repairs in occupied properties.

Required skills

• BS 7671 compliant electrical installation.
• Use of mobile job‑recording technology.
• Operation of NICEIC certification software.
