Electronics Inspector

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Electronics Inspector to join the Quality team of a well‑established manufacturer operating in a high‑reliability electronics environment. The role involves inspecting electronic assemblies, PCBAs and finished products to ensure compliance with engineering specifications and industry standards.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out visual and functional inspections of electronic assemblies, PCBAs, wiring and finished products.
• Perform first‑off, in‑process and final inspections throughout the manufacturing process.
• Verify products against engineering drawings, bills of materials, work instructions and quality standards.
• Identify component, assembly and cosmetic defects, including soldering faults, placement errors and wiring discrepancies.
• Use inspection equipment such as microscopes and vernier calipers.
• Complete quality documentation accurately and maintain full product traceability.
• Raise Non‑Conformance Reports (NCRs) and support corrective‑action activities.
• Assist with root‑cause investigations and continuous‑improvement initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with IPC standards, customer specifications and internal quality procedures.
• Collaborate with Production, Engineering and Quality teams to resolve quality issues.

Required profile

• Previous experience in electronics manufacturing or inspection.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and schematics.
• Good understanding of electronic components and PCB assemblies.
• Experience with quality inspection techniques and processes.
• IPC‑A‑610 certification.
• Familiarity with ISO 9001 and/or AS9100 quality systems.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to high‑quality standards.
• Experience in aerospace, defence or other high‑reliability sectors.
