Embedded Software Engineer – Real‑Time Systems (Hybrid)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Embedded Software Engineer to join a regulated‑industry client in Bristol. You will work on real‑time operating system (RTOS) based firmware, ensuring compliance with recognised safety standards and delivering high‑quality documentation.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain embedded software for Cortex‑M3, Cortex‑M4 and Cortex‑A7 platforms.
• Produce detailed design, test and verification artefacts following safety‑critical processes.
• Manage software requirements and configuration control throughout the product lifecycle.
• Collaborate with hardware engineers to integrate and validate low‑level drivers.
• Support continuous improvement and compliance activities in a regulated environment.

Required profile

• Minimum 4 years of commercial embedded software development experience.
• Experience working in controlled or regulated sectors.
• Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC).
• Ability to produce clear technical documentation.
