Energy Support Officer (Hybrid)

About the role

We are seeking an enthusiastic Energy Support Officer to join our Housing and Communities team in Reading. In this hybrid role you will help residents lower their energy bills, improve home comfort and tackle fuel poverty through practical advice and support.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct home energy assessments and identify suitable efficiency measures.
• Provide practical advice on reducing energy use and addressing damp or mould issues.
• Support households experiencing fuel poverty, guiding them to relevant schemes and funding.
• Liaise with energy suppliers and partner organisations on behalf of residents.
• Maintain accurate case records and performance data.
• Promote energy support services through community outreach and events.
• Respond promptly to customer enquiries within agreed timescales.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 GCSEs (or equivalent), including English and Maths.
• Experience delivering advice and support to the public.
• Understanding of domestic energy efficiency, fuel poverty legislation and funding programmes.
• Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple cases.
• Full UK driving licence with regular access to a vehicle.
