Engineer I – People Technology (HCM)

About the role

Checkout.com is seeking an enthusiastic Engineer I to own day‑to‑day functionality of the Workday HCM platform. You will act as the first line of support, partner with People and Corporate Technology teams, and help keep critical data flowing accurately across systems.

Key responsibilities

• Own first‑line support for Workday queries and resolve issues independently.
• Maintain core Workday HCM health to minimise downtime and data errors.
• Partner with Corporate Technology to ensure flawless data integration between Workday, ERP and downstream platforms.
• Streamline HR workflows and reporting for global stakeholders.
• Support feature deployments and system upgrades to match rapid organisational growth.
• Create clear internal documentation and runbooks to standardise support processes.

Required profile

• At least 1 year of experience administering Workday modules, configuring business processes, security roles and workflows.
• Passion for optimising HR workflows within Workday and partnering with People Operations.
• Experience managing system testing, feature deployments, platform upgrades and producing technical documentation.
• Growth mindset with a strong desire to deepen technical knowledge across all Workday modules.
• Creative problem‑solving skills, customer‑service orientation and ability to research solutions independently.
• Excellent written and verbal communication in English, able to coordinate with global teams.
