Engineer Surveyor – Lift & Crane (Oxford/Bicester)

About the role

Zurich Engineering is expanding its field‑based Engineer Surveyor team and is looking for a Lift & Crane Engineer Surveyor to serve the Oxford/Bicester area. You will work flexibly, managing your own diary and client relationships while representing Zurich’s engineering inspection services.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out statutory inspections of lift and crane equipment across the Oxford/Bicester area.
• Provide expert engineering opinions to ensure clients meet all relevant legislation and high standards.
• Record inspection results on a rugged laptop and issue electronic reports to clients.
• Make sound engineering judgments and communicate findings clearly.

Required profile

• Level 4 engineering qualification (HND/HNC) or minimum Level 3, with training provided if needed.
• Time‑served or Modern Apprenticeship in a relevant engineering discipline.
• Hands‑on experience with lifts, cranes or related mechanical equipment.
• Full, valid UK driving licence and willingness to work paid overtime.

Required skills

• Proficient IT skills for electronic reporting.
• Hands‑on experience with lift and crane systems.
