English Teacher – Secondary School (Full‑time, Fixed‑term)

About the role

We are seeking a dedicated English Teacher to join a co‑educational secondary academy in South East London. The role starts in September and is offered on a full‑time, fixed‑term basis, covering Key Stages 3 to 5.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging English lessons for KS3, KS4 and KS5 students.
• Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback.
• Contribute to the development of the English curriculum and school-wide initiatives.
• Support the pastoral care of pupils, including those with SEN.
• Collaborate with colleagues in the department and across the school.

Required profile

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in the UK or an equivalent qualification.
• Right to work in the United Kingdom.
• Current enhanced DBS clearance.
• Experience teaching English in UK schools (experience at A‑Level is not mandatory).

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of the English National Curriculum.
• Effective classroom management techniques.
• Ability to differentiate instruction for diverse learners.

What we offer

• Salary between £37,870 and £50,474 per year, dependent on experience and qualifications.
