About the role
We are seeking a qualified English Teacher to join a vibrant SEMH school in Birmingham. The successful candidate will inspire a love for literature and language while supporting students with social, emotional and mental health needs.
Key responsibilities
- Teach small classes of students with SEMH needs, delivering engaging English lessons.
- Plan and adapt curriculum to meet individual abilities and learning goals.
- Utilise creative and interactive teaching methods to foster enthusiasm for language and literature.
- Manage classroom behaviour using a range of de‑escalation techniques.
- Collaborate with the teaching team and contribute to whole‑school activities and reward days.
Required profile
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in English.
- Experience teaching small groups of students with SEMH requirements.
- Passion for removing academic barriers and re‑engaging learners.
