EPC & Stock Condition Surveyor – 6‑Month Contract

About the role

We are seeking an EPC and Stock Condition Surveyor for a six‑month contract with a local authority in Devon. The role starts immediately and is based in Exeter, working 37 hours per week (Monday‑Friday, 9 am‑5 pm).

Key responsibilities

• Conduct stock condition surveys across residential housing stock to assess property condition and lifecycle requirements.
• Carry out Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) assessments and produce compliant energy ratings and reports.
• Collect, validate and update asset data within housing asset management systems.
• Identify maintenance, refurbishment and capital investment needs through detailed inspections.
• Prepare accurate survey reports and recommendations to support planned maintenance programmes.
• Liaise with tenants, contractors and internal stakeholders to arrange surveys and ensure successful delivery.

Required profile

• Recent experience undertaking stock condition surveys and property inspections within residential housing portfolios.
• Strong understanding of EPCs, energy efficiency measures and relevant housing legislation.
• Experience using property/asset management systems to collect and analyse data.
• Good knowledge of building construction, maintenance requirements and lifecycle costing.
• Excellent communication skills for interacting with tenants, contractors and stakeholders.

What we offer

• Hourly rate of £38.79 paid via an Umbrella Company.
