Equality, Diversity & Inclusion (EDI) HR Consultant

About the role

We are looking for an experienced HR Consultant with a specialist focus on Equality, Diversity & Inclusion (EDI) to help shape fair and inclusive people policies. Working primarily remotely with occasional office attendance, you will partner with managers, HR colleagues and employee networks to embed inclusive practices across the organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Provide expert HR advice on EDI matters and support complex casework.
• Develop, review and update people policies to ensure they are inclusive and compliant.
• Lead and contribute to Equality Impact Assessments (EqIAs).
• Analyse workforce data and deliver evidence‑based recommendations for EDI initiatives.
• Collaborate with managers, HR teams and employee networks to promote inclusive employment practices.

Required profile

• Proven HR policy and employee‑relations experience.
• Strong knowledge of Equality, Diversity & Inclusion, employment law and HR best practice.
• Significant experience within a Local Authority environment.
• Ability to analyse workforce data and provide evidence‑based recommendations.

• No specific technical tools required.
