European Tax Governance Lead

About the role

A substantial international business is strengthening its European finance function and has created a senior leadership position to manage tax risk, governance and regulatory responsibilities across its European operations.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the European tax compliance programme across multiple jurisdictions.
• Oversee indirect tax, corporate tax and related statutory obligations.
• Manage and develop a geographically dispersed tax team.
• Strengthen policies, controls and governance frameworks.
• Support UK tax risk management and Senior Accounting Officer requirements.

Required profile

• Experienced tax professional with a strong background in European or international tax compliance.
• Qualifications such as ACA, ACCA, CTA or equivalent.
• Proven experience managing or coordinating a team.
• Ability to work with senior finance and commercial stakeholders.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of VAT and UK corporate tax compliance.
• Understanding of tax controls, governance and risk.
• Experience improving tax processes, systems or reporting.
