Experienced Building Surveyor – Insurance Claims

About the role

An experienced Insurance Claims Building Surveyor is needed to join one of the UK's largest loss adjusting firms. You will become part of a highly skilled Building Surveying team, managing a mixed portfolio of loss cases across all general perils.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out site investigations in close collaboration with loss adjusters and relevant parties.
• Scope reinstatement works and coordinate with contractors.
• Project‑manage reinstatement on site, liaising with all stakeholders throughout the process.
• Manage a portfolio covering fire, flood, water escape, impact and other perils.
• Participate in traditional building surveying professional services when required.
• Handle a wide variety of properties, including high‑net‑worth and major loss cases.

Required profile

• Strong background in building surveying principles.
• Insurance claims experience covering all general perils.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
• Self‑motivated with the capacity to work independently and as part of a team.
• Technical expertise demonstrating high‑quality standards.
• Outstanding report‑writing ability and experience producing scopes and schedules of works.
• Chartered status (MRICS) or a related construction qualification is desirable.
• Full clean driving licence and willingness to travel.
