Facilities Assistant – Full‑time Temporary Role

About the role

The Facilities Assistant will support the Estates/Facilities Management team in maintaining a safe and efficient environment across multiple sites. Working full‑time (37.5 hours per week) on a shift pattern, you will be involved in both planned and reactive maintenance activities.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out basic building maintenance, repairs and support planned and reactive works.
• Complete Planned Preventive Maintenance (PPM) checks and record results in the estates system.
• Assist with opening, closing and general operation of premises.
• Conduct regular site inspections, report issues and resolve minor repairs.
• Support emergency procedures for fire, flood, break‑ins or accidents.
• Use management and ticketing systems to track tasks and coordinate with scheduling teams.
• Help improve completion rates for planned maintenance tasks.
• Collaborate with internal teams and stakeholders to support site operations.
• Work flexibly across different sites as required.

Required profile

• Availability for full‑time hours (37.5 h/week) and shift work, including evenings and weekends.
• Willingness to work across multiple sites in the North East England region.
• Ability to follow health, safety and emergency procedures.

Required skills

• Use of management and ticketing systems for task tracking.
