Facilities Assistant

About the role

We are looking for a Facilities Assistant to join our Estates/Facilities Management team in Stockton-on-Tees. The role is full‑time, 37.5 hours per week, and involves supporting both planned and reactive maintenance across multiple sites.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out basic building maintenance, repairs and support planned and reactive works.
• Complete Planned Preventive Maintenance (PPM) checks and record results in the estates system.
• Assist with opening, closing and general operation of premises.
• Conduct regular site inspections, report issues and resolve minor repairs.
• Support emergency procedures such as fire, flood, break‑ins or accidents.
• Work a shift pattern that may include evenings and weekends.
• Use management and ticketing systems to track tasks and coordinate with scheduling teams.
• Help improve completion rates for planned maintenance tasks.
• Collaborate with internal teams and stakeholders to support site operations.
• Flexibly work across different sites as required.

Required profile

• Ability to perform basic maintenance and repair tasks.
• Good attention to detail for inspections and record‑keeping.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
• Strong communication skills to report issues and coordinate with teams.
• Reliability and ability to work independently or as part of a shift team.

Required skills

• Experience with Planned Preventive Maintenance (PPM) processes.
• Familiarity with estates or facilities management systems.
• Use of ticketing or task‑tracking software.
