Family and Systemic Psychotherapist (Permanent)

About the role

The post is a permanent, full‑time position within East Renfrewshire CAMHS, delivering specialist family and systemic psychotherapy to children, young people and their families.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver evidence‑based systemic assessments, formulations and therapeutic interventions.
• Provide family and systemic psychotherapy within a multidisciplinary CAMHS team.
• Contribute to risk assessment, care planning and multidisciplinary discussions.
• Offer consultation and support to colleagues, partner agencies and multi‑agency partners.
• Maintain accurate clinical records, outcome measures and participate in audit and service improvement activities.

Required profile

• Postgraduate Master’s level qualification in Family and Systemic Psychotherapy accredited by AFT or equivalent.
• Current professional registration with UKCP or equivalent regulatory body.
• Significant post‑qualification experience working with children, young people and families.
• Membership of the PVG Scheme for regulated work with children.

Required skills

• Knowledge and application of systemic theories, models and evidence‑based therapeutic approaches.
• Experience of systemic assessment, formulation and therapeutic intervention.
• Understanding of risk assessment, safeguarding and child protection procedures.
