Family Solicitor – Private Family Law

About the role

A leading regional law firm is looking for a Family Solicitor to join its growing team in Reading. The role offers the chance to manage a varied, high‑quality private family law caseload and to develop within a supportive, well‑respected practice.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a mixed caseload of private family law matters, including divorce, financial remedy, children matters and cohabitation disputes.
• Draft statements, consent orders, agreements and court applications.
• Conduct advocacy in court where appropriate.
• Build strong client relationships and contribute to business development initiatives.
• Collaborate with senior solicitors and partners on complex cases.

Required profile

• Qualified Solicitor or Legal Executive with experience in family law (NQ to Senior level considered).
• Proven experience handling private family matters.
• Excellent communication, drafting and client‑care abilities.
• Ability to manage an independent caseload with minimal supervision.
• Proactive, empathetic and commercially minded approach.
