Family Solicitor – Private Family Law Specialist

About the role

We are a well‑established law firm in Reading seeking a qualified Family Solicitor to join our expanding Family Law department. You will work on a diverse range of private family matters, supporting clients through sensitive and complex legal issues.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a varied caseload covering divorce, separation and financial remedy work.
• Handle private children matters, including custody and contact arrangements.
• Draft and negotiate cohabitation, pre‑ and post‑nuptial agreements.
• Prepare and apply for domestic abuse orders such as non‑molestation and occupation orders.
• Develop and maintain client relationships, contributing to business development.

Required profile

• Qualified solicitor with NQ up to 6 years PQE.
• Demonstrated experience in private family law.
• Strong client‑care abilities and sensitivity to confidential matters.
• Capability to manage an independent caseload with appropriate supervision.

Required skills

• Legal research and case preparation.
• Drafting of family law documents and agreements.
• Negotiation and advocacy in family court proceedings.
