Field Engineer – IT & Telecoms

About the role

We are seeking a motivated Field Engineer to deliver IT and telecom installations, maintenance and support for Claritel’s clients across the North West and the wider UK. The role combines hands‑on site work with office‑based project tasks and occasional service‑desk assistance, acting as the on‑site representative of the business.

Key responsibilities

• Install and test structured cabling (Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6a, fibre) on client sites.
• Deploy and configure IT and telecom equipment including computers, network switches, Wi‑Fi access points and VoIP phones.
• Build and organise cabinets/racks with professional cable management.
• Conduct site surveys, produce recommendations and support upgrades or relocations.
• Diagnose and resolve on‑site technical issues promptly.
• Provide clear communication and excellent customer service to clients.

Required profile

• Full clean UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (company vehicle provided).
• Clean DBS check.
• Willingness to travel across the UK and work flexible hours.

• Network setup, Wi‑Fi deployment and VoIP configuration.
• Cabinet/rack assembly and cable management.
• Windows operating system knowledge.
• Fundamental networking concepts.
