Field Service Engineer – Forklift & MHE Maintenance

About the role

We are partnering with a market‑leading materials handling company to recruit an experienced Field Service Engineer. You will travel to customer sites across the North East (Newcastle, Durham, Sunderland and surrounding areas) to service, maintain and repair forklift trucks and a variety of material handling equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose faults and carry out breakdown repairs on forklift trucks, mobile plant machinery and other industrial vehicles.
• Perform scheduled preventative maintenance and calibration tasks.
• Maintain an organised diary, prioritising jobs and ensuring timely completion.
• Record service reports and liaise with the technical back‑office for support and parts.
• Stay up‑to‑date with manufacturer training and new equipment technologies.

Required profile

• Proven hands‑on servicing or maintenance experience with forklift trucks, mobile plant or HGVs.
• Practical knowledge of electrical, mechanical and hydraulic systems.
• Recognised engineering qualification (e.g., Level 3 or higher).
• Full UK driving licence.
