Finance Assistant – AAT/Graduate Opportunity

About the role

Finance Assistant (AAT / Graduate Opportunity) in Watford offering £30k plus benefits and study support. This role is ideal for a finance graduate or someone close to completing their AAT qualification who wants to build a long‑term career in finance. You will work within a supportive finance team, gaining exposure to a broad range of accounting processes and receiving full study support towards ACCA or CIMA.

Key responsibilities

• Raise invoices and credit notes accurately and on time, produce premium collection reports, process customer refunds and distribute broker commission statements.
• Respond to premium receipt queries, assist with credit control, collect outstanding debt and produce analysis for clients' P11D calculations.
• Prepare and upload weekly direct‑debit collection files to the BACS system and record BACS receipts within Salesforce.
• Process ADDACS and ARRUDS reports and update records accordingly.
• Identify and recommend process improvements, ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and support vulnerable customers.

Required profile

• Finance degree (or equivalent) or AAT qualified / studying towards AAT.
• Strong understanding of sales ledger processes.
• Excellent numerical and analytical skills with high accuracy and attention to detail.
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
• Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication, customer‑focused and able to work independently or as part of a team.
• Positive attitude with a willingness to learn and develop.
