Finance Manager – Full Ownership Role in London

About the role

We are partnering with a growing SME in Central London that needs a Finance Manager to take full ownership of its finance function. This is a standalone, office‑based position reporting directly to the Directors, offering immediate start and a clear path to influence the business.

Key responsibilities

• Produce monthly Management Accounts and present financial information to the Directors.
• Manage day‑to‑day finance operations, including sales ledger, purchase ledger, supplier payments and customer receipts.
• Process bank reconciliations, VAT returns and maintain the general ledger.
• Lead cash‑flow forecasting, budgeting, financial planning and month‑end / year‑end close.
• Prepare balance‑sheet reconciliations, fixed‑asset and pre‑payment schedules.
• Generate management reports and financial analysis using Xero and Excel.
• Identify and implement improvements to financial controls and reporting processes.

Required profile

• Experience as a Finance Manager, Management Accountant, Company Accountant or Finance Controller with full finance responsibility in an SME.
• Qualified by Experience (QBE) or currently studying towards an accounting qualification.
• Strong knowledge of budgeting, cash‑flow forecasting, VAT, month‑end and year‑end processes.

Required skills

• Xero accounting software.
• Advanced Excel, including Pivot Tables and VLOOKUP.
