Financial Accountant – International Bank, London

About the role

This position offers a qualified accountant the chance to work within an international bank in London, gaining exposure to financial, management, and treasury accounting. You will be responsible for delivering accurate financial information to both internal and external stakeholders in a collaborative environment.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain the integrity of the general ledger using Oracle, supporting system transitions and accurate record‑keeping.
• Prepare month‑end management accounts, analyse performance versus budget, and compile MI packs for ALCO and EXCO.
• Produce daily liquidity, NSFR, capital asset ratio, and large exposure reports.
• Assist in the preparation of statutory accounts and liaise with external auditors during annual audits.
• Support the annual budgeting process, documenting assumptions and maintaining audit trails.
• Prepare quarterly VAT returns in line with HMRC requirements and contribute to corporation tax filings.
• Perform monthly balance‑sheet reconciliations and maintain schedules for accruals and pre‑payments.

Required profile

• Recognised accountancy qualification (CIMA, ACCA or ACA).
• Experience in financial services, preferably banking or broking, or auditing complex financial‑services entities.
• Interest in fixed‑interest financial instruments or willingness to develop this knowledge.
• Proven ability to deliver high‑quality work under tight deadlines while managing multiple priorities.
