Financial Assessment & Inclusion Officer

About the role

The Financial Assessment & Inclusion Officer joins the Shared Finance Service team to deliver financial assessments and income‑maximisation for adult social‑care recipients. You will help manage a £5.6 million income‑collection portfolio and support payments to care providers worth £35 million annually.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct financial assessments for care service recipients.
• Administer, monitor and process payments to care providers.
• Support income collection and ensure accurate financial reporting.
• Collaborate with Adult Social Care teams on safeguarding and joint working.
• Lead service policy development and drive continuous improvement.
• Promote the service’s profile and maintain high customer satisfaction.
• Work flexibly across the Financial Assessment and Inclusion teams during peak periods.

Required profile

• Minimum of 5 GCSEs (or equivalent).
• Experience in financial assessment, income collection or related finance functions.
• Ability to work with limited guidance and supervise a small team.
• Strong understanding of statutory compliance in adult social‑care finance.
