Founding Frontend Engineer

About the role

We are looking for our first in‑house Frontend Engineer to own and scale the user portal that customers interact with first. You will shape the frontend engineering principles and values that will guide the team now and into the future.

Key responsibilities

• Own the entire frontend surface, from design system foundations to performance and deployment.
• Translate UI/UX designs into clean, efficient, and maintainable code.
• Develop accessible, high‑performing interfaces across devices and browsers.
• Optimize application performance and ensure cross‑browser compatibility.
• Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve front‑end issues quickly.
• Make decisions on authentication strategies and secure session/token handling (e.g., JWT/JWE, token rotation).
• Collaborate with designers, developers, and stakeholders to deliver seamless digital experiences.
• Enforce best practices in code quality, testing, and performance optimisation.

Required profile

• Strong commercial experience delivering production web applications.
• Excellent JavaScript and TypeScript skills.
• Solid HTML5 and CSS expertise, including responsive design.
• Experience with modern web patterns such as server‑side rendering and performance‑focused UI delivery.
• Background building enterprise‑scale applications against REST APIs.
• Familiarity with component‑based architecture and maintainable codebases.
