Freelance Compliance Consultant – Health & Social Care

About the role

The Freelance Compliance Consultant will work on a self‑employed basis to support health and social care providers in meeting CQC regulatory standards. Contracted through Delphi Care Solutions, you will deliver mock inspections, quality audits, and improvement‑focused advice across a variety of care settings.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct mock CQC inspections covering all regulatory domains.
• Review policies, procedures, care plans and compliance documentation.
• Observe care practice and interview staff, managers and service users.
• Produce clear, evidence‑based reports with findings and actionable recommendations.
• Assist services in developing and implementing improvement action plans.
• Provide expert guidance on regulatory expectations and best practice.
• Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of CQC frameworks and sector developments.
• Manage your own workload, schedule and administrative duties as an independent consultant.

Required profile

• Significant experience in health or social care leadership, quality assurance or regulatory compliance.
• Proven track record of conducting mock inspections or regulatory audits aligned to CQC frameworks.
• Ability to evaluate evidence, identify risks and deliver practical improvement recommendations.
• Self‑employed status with willingness to obtain an Enhanced DBS.
• Professional indemnity and public liability insurance.
• Access to transport for on‑site visits and commitment to confidentiality.
