Freelance Remote Somali Telephone Interpreter

About the role

LanguageLine Solutions is seeking freelance Somali telephone interpreters to work remotely from the UK. You will provide accurate, impartial, and confidential interpretation between English and Somali for a variety of public‑sector clients, including healthcare, local government and other public services.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver real‑time telephone interpretation for callers in English and Somali.
• Maintain confidentiality and impartiality in all interactions.
• Manage your own schedule and accept assignments that fit your availability.
• Support clients across multiple sectors such as the NHS, local authorities and government departments.

Required profile

• Fluent spoken Somali and strong English communication skills.
• Right to work in the United Kingdom.
• Access to a reliable smartphone and home Wi‑Fi connection.
• Willingness to complete recruitment, onboarding and an Enhanced DBS check.
