French Teacher – Full‑time Secondary Position

About the role
Gildredge House is seeking an enthusiastic French Teacher to join its Communications Faculty. This full‑time, permanent position starts on 1 September 2026 and involves teaching French (and optionally Spanish) to secondary‑phase students, preparing them for GCSE examinations.
Key responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging French lessons aligned with the GCSE curriculum.
- Provide Spanish instruction where applicable, supporting students who choose both languages.
- Assess student progress, give constructive feedback, and maintain accurate records.
- Collaborate with the Languages team to develop interdisciplinary projects and transition support for Year 6 pupils.
- Contribute to the school’s wider pastoral and extracurricular activities.
Required profile
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
- Demonstrated experience teaching French at secondary level, preferably with GCSE experience.
- Ability to teach Spanish to GCSE level is highly desirable.
- Strong emotional intelligence and a collaborative mindset.
Required skills
- Fluency in French (spoken and written).
- Proficiency in Spanish (spoken and written) for dual‑language teaching.
