About the role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Garage Manager for a prominent automotive business in Manchester. The role involves overseeing daily operations within a busy garage, ensuring targets are met while maintaining high standards of customer service and operational quality.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of the branch to ensure financial and operational targets are met.
• Support and lead a team of technicians, managing workloads and fostering team development.
• Monitor and maintain high‑quality customer service standards.
• Manage customer interactions directly when required, providing face‑to‑face assistance.
• Address operational challenges promptly, offering technical and problem‑solving support.
• Uphold health and safety standards and ensure compliance with company policies.
• Drive branch profitability through strategic planning and operational management.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing a garage or relevant automotive environment.
• Strong leadership abilities with a ‘leader mentality’.
• Technical background with a good understanding of automotive systems preferred.
• Experience managing teams of 5‑6 technicians.
• Excellent communication, problem‑solving, and organisational skills.
• Ability to manage workloads effectively and meet targets.
• Previous experience with an independent garage is desirable; dealership experience will also be considered.
