General Accountant for Luxury Resort

About the role

Join Fairmont Southampton, a premier luxury resort, as a General Accountant reporting to the Director of Finance. You will ensure accurate financial reporting, support operational efficiency, and contribute to strategic decision‑making.

Key responsibilities

• Record, review and process daily transactions, including accounts payable, income audit and cash management.
• Maintain general ledger integrity, perform reconciliations and journal entries.
• Support month‑end and year‑end closing processes and prepare financial statements.
• Assist with internal and external audits and ensure compliance with internal controls.

Required profile

• 3–5 years of accounting experience, preferably in hospitality or a high‑volume environment.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
• Strong analytical, numerical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and Word.
• Familiarity with hotel accounting or ERP systems such as Opera or SUN.
