General Cover Teacher – Flexible KS3/KS4 Supply

About the role

Join a network of secondary schools as a General Cover Teacher, delivering pre‑set lessons for KS3 and KS4 students. This flexible supply position lets you focus on classroom teaching without the burden of planning, marking, or administrative paperwork.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver pre‑prepared lesson plans across a range of subjects following the National Curriculum.
• Maintain a calm, inclusive classroom environment through effective behaviour management.
• Provide targeted 1:1 or small‑group support to students who need extra assistance.
• Leave concise handover notes for the returning teacher to ensure continuity.

Required profile

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or Qualified Teacher Learning and Skills (QTLS).
• Ability to adapt quickly to any subject area, from Humanities to Art.
• Strong classroom presence with confidence managing groups of 30+ students.
• Valid enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain) and commitment to safeguarding.

Required skills

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or QTLS certification.
• Enhanced DBS clearance.
