General Manager – Build to Rent (Birmingham)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced General Manager to lead one of Birmingham’s flagship Build‑to‑Rent communities. Reporting to senior leadership, you will be responsible for the day‑to‑day operation of a large residential development, ensuring residents enjoy a high‑quality living experience across a wide range of amenities.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, motivate and develop the on‑site multidisciplinary team.
• Drive a customer‑first culture and deliver exceptional resident experiences.
• Oversee facilities and operational management, including communal water, heating and other building systems.
• Ensure health and safety compliance with all relevant legislation.
• Support leasing performance and resident retention initiatives.
• Handle escalated resident complaints professionally and efficiently.
• Manage service partners and contractors to maintain high standards.
• Monitor operational budgets, control expenditure and produce regular performance reports.
• Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities.

Required skills
