Global Category Manager

About the role

An established healthcare‑related organisation is looking for a commercially focused Global Category Manager to own a high‑value portfolio of medical products and consumables. You will develop and execute category strategies, manage supplier performance and drive cost‑saving initiatives in a fast‑paced environment.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement category plans aligned to commercial and operational objectives.
• Manage supplier relationships to ensure high standards of service, quality, reliability and value.
• Lead negotiations on pricing, commercial agreements, rebates and contract terms.
• Identify opportunities for cost reduction, margin improvement and sourcing optimisation.
• Monitor market trends, competitor activity and customer requirements to inform procurement decisions.
• Support new product introductions, supplier selection processes and range development initiatives.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Procurement Category Manager, Category Manager, Senior Buyer or similar commercial role.
• Background in medical consumables, healthcare products, veterinary products, life sciences or a related sector.
• Strong supplier management, sourcing and negotiation capabilities.
• Excellent commercial acumen and analytical skills with the ability to interpret data.
• Effective stakeholder management and communication skills.
