Global CMS Database Team Manager

About the role

Trimble is looking for a Global CMS Database Administration Team Manager to lead a high-impact, globally distributed database organization supporting business-critical cloud applications. The role holds global ownership of database platforms across the CMS portfolio, shaping high-availability architectures, driving cloud-native automation and leading modern database transformations. It is based in Newcastle, UK.

Key responsibilities

• Lead a globally distributed team of DBAs across regions, fostering a follow-the-sun model focused on continuous improvement, mentorship and operational excellence.
• Drive database platform modernization and automation using cloud-native tools, Infrastructure as Code and automated lifecycle processes to reduce manual overhead.
• Partner with Cloud Operations, Site Reliability Engineering and Product leaders to ensure resiliency, scalability and performance of mission-critical applications.
• Direct global disaster recovery strategies, high availability architectures and security policies across relational and NoSQL platforms.

Required profile

• Demonstrated experience managing, mentoring and leading globally distributed or multi-region DBA teams.
• Extensive experience with enterprise-level database technologies, including cloud database operations (AWS/Azure).
• In-depth expertise in database architecture, high availability, performance tuning, disaster recovery and operational security.
• Proven track record supporting high-availability, business-critical customer-facing software applications.

Required skills

• Bonus points: Microsoft SQL Server, MongoDB, PostgreSQL and MySQL.
• Bonus points: Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, Bicep or PowerShell, and CI/CD practices.
• Bonus points: leading database consolidation, cloud migration and FinOps cloud-cost optimization.
