Graduate Material & Processes Specialist – Surface Technology

About the role

Airbus is looking for recent graduates to join a two‑year development programme as a Material & Processes Specialist focused on surface technology. You will work across the aircraft lifecycle, from research and design to production and in‑service support, helping to develop sustainable surface protection solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and deploy materials, processes and test technologies for surface protection, including corrosion protection, sealants, paints, lubricants, greases, surface treatments and coatings.
• Provide reactive support for improvement projects aimed at performance, cost and time reduction.
• Ensure compliance with EHS regulations such as REACh through eco‑efficient materials and processes.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams and worldwide suppliers throughout the aircraft lifecycle.

Required profile

• Degree in Chemistry, Materials Science or Engineering (or equivalent).
• Recent graduate or early‑career professional with relevant academic background.
• Strong written and verbal communication in English.
• Motivation to work in a collaborative team and drive innovation.

Required skills

• Materials science knowledge.
• Surface protection technologies (corrosion protection, sealants, paints, lubricants, greases, surface treatments, coatings).
• EHS compliance, specifically REACh regulations.
