Graduate Teaching Assistant – Full‑time, Cheltenham

About the role

A welcoming primary school in Cheltenham is looking for a Graduate Teaching Assistant to join its supportive team as soon as possible. This full‑time position offers recent graduates valuable classroom experience and a solid foundation for future careers in teaching, educational psychology, speech and language therapy, or child development.

Key responsibilities

• Support pupils in one‑to‑one and small‑group settings.
• Assist the class teacher with planning and delivering engaging lessons.
• Encourage pupil confidence, independence and active participation.
• Adapt learning materials to meet individual needs.
• Build positive relationships with pupils, staff and parents.
• Help manage behaviour and promote a productive learning environment.

Required profile

• A graduate with a genuine passion for working with children.
• A degree in Psychology, Education, Health & Social Care or a related subject is desirable.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Patient, proactive and adaptable approach.
• Experience with children or young people is beneficial but not essential.
• Enthusiastic, resilient and eager to learn.
