About the role
Prospero Teaching is seeking a Graduate Teaching Assistant to support a secondary school in Hertfordshire. This full‑time, temporary position runs until the end of the academic year and offers recent Maths or Science graduates the chance to gain classroom experience.
Key responsibilities
- Assist teachers with daily classroom activities and lesson delivery.
- Provide one‑to‑one and small‑group support to pupils, reinforcing learning objectives.
- Help prepare teaching materials and maintain a safe, organised learning environment.
- Monitor student progress and report observations to the teaching team.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Science or a related discipline.
- Enthusiasm for working with children and supporting their educational development.
- Up‑to‑date safeguarding training (or willingness to complete it).
- Right to work in the UK and an Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one).
Required skills
- Basic classroom management techniques.
- Effective communication with pupils and staff.
