Group Business Development Manager

About the role

Optima UK is seeking an experienced Group Business Development Manager to drive commercial growth across civil and military aero‑engine markets, including industrial gas turbines. You will work across multiple business units and manufacturing sites, building pipelines, securing new contracts and deepening relationships with key OEMs and strategic customers.

Key responsibilities

• Develop new business opportunities in civil and military aero‑engine sectors.
• Identify and pursue opportunities within the industrial gas turbine market.
• Manage sales pipelines and coordinate business development across several manufacturing sites.
• Build and maintain relationships with aero‑engine OEMs and strategic customers.
• Present technical manufacturing solutions that meet customer requirements.
• Support existing customers with new programmes, MRO needs and product re‑activation.
• Prepare proposals, contracts and commercial presentations; negotiate pricing and terms.
• Collaborate with marketing on sector campaigns and OEM engagement.
• Attend industry events, monitor market developments and defence initiatives.

Required profile

• Extensive sales and business development experience with aero‑engine products.
• Strong understanding of civil aerospace markets.
• Proven ability to generate sustainable revenue and acquire new customers.
• Experience presenting technical manufacturing solutions to OEMs or major industry customers.
• Excellent commercial awareness and negotiation skills.
• Effective written and verbal communication abilities.
• Professional, approachable and commercially focused demeanor.
• Relevant degree in marketing, business administration or a related field.
