Handbag & Accessories Designer

About the role

Carvela is seeking a creative Handbag & Accessories Designer to join its design team. You will work closely with senior designers and the buying team to develop collections that blend Italian-inspired silhouettes with modern trends, delivering high‑quality products for women.

Key responsibilities

• Research trends, materials, trims and colour palettes and translate insights into design concepts.
• Produce original ideas to evolve best‑selling items and create market‑focused collections.
• Sketch and create detailed technical drawings using Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.
• Generate detailed specifications, manage design modifications and maintain a sample tracker throughout development.
• Collaborate with suppliers to ensure the design critical path is met.
• Support the senior designer in fit and aesthetic reviews with the buying team.
• Organise samples, display collections for meetings and perform general administrative tasks.

Required profile

• Strong creative flair with a passion for fashion accessories.
• Ability to meet tight deadlines while delivering high‑quality work.
• Excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
• Willingness to work collaboratively across head‑office departments.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator.
• Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop.
