Head of Accounts Payable

About the role

We are looking for a Head of Accounts Payable to lead the AP function across our multi‑agency, multi‑jurisdiction group. Reporting to the Global CFO, you will be responsible for end‑to‑end invoice processing, payments, vendor relationships and cash‑flow analysis for our London‑based finance team.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee the full accounts payable cycle, ensuring invoices are received, verified, approved and paid accurately and on time.
• Manage multi‑entity, multi‑currency AP operations, including weekly payment runs, expense reimbursements and corporate credit‑card reconciliation.
• Maintain and enrich vendor master data, handle supplier escalations and negotiate payment terms.
• Monitor aged creditor balances, optimise cash flow, and provide payment forecasting for finance leadership.
• Ensure compliance with internal controls, tax regulations and support internal/external audits.
• Drive process improvements and automation through ERP enhancements, OCR and AI‑enabled tools.
• Lead, mentor and develop the AP team, allocating workloads and conducting performance reviews.

Required profile

• Proven experience building and managing an end‑to‑end accounts payable function in a fast‑paced, multi‑entity environment.
• Strong track record of supplier relationship management and stakeholder engagement at senior level.
• Excellent analytical, quantitative and commercial judgement with high integrity.
• Ability to influence senior leadership and work across diverse departments and agencies.
