Head of Finance Business Partnering

About the role

The university is looking for an experienced, commercially‑minded Head of Finance Business Partnering to lead its business partnering function. Reporting to senior finance leadership, you will work closely with academic and professional service leaders, providing expert financial advice, challenge and insight to support strategic decision‑making.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with senior leaders across the institution to influence resource allocation and drive organisational objectives.
• Oversee budgeting, forecasting and financial modelling activities for the university.
• Manage cash flow, monitor performance against targets and provide actionable insights.
• Lead, develop and inspire a high‑performing finance team.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory and governance standards.

Required profile

• ACA, ACCA, CIMA or CIPFA qualified accountant.
• Proven track record in budget management, forecasting and financial modelling.
• Strong experience in cash‑flow management and leading finance teams.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Higher‑education experience desirable but not essential.
