Head of Finance (Hybrid, London)

About the role

We are looking for a Head of Finance to build and run the finance function at Capsa AI, an AI operating system for private capital. This senior‑most finance seat will own the financial model, board pack and month‑end close while establishing FP&A, controls and financial readiness for Series B and beyond.

Key responsibilities

• Build and run the finance function as a player‑coach, transitioning to a full leader as the team grows.
• Own the financial model, board pack and month‑end close, delivering accurate and defensible numbers.
• Establish FP&A cadence: monthly close, variance analysis, rolling forecasts and scenario modelling.
• Lead Series B readiness, preparing data rooms, financial diligence and supporting the CEO through fundraising.
• Manage outsourced accounting, audit, tax, payroll and ensure clean SaaS revenue recognition.
• Oversee cap table, equity administration, option grants and valuations.
• Handle treasury and cash management, including FX, banking relationships and venture debt planning.
• Hire and develop a small finance team, set tooling and close calendar, and partner with other business functions.

Required profile

• 8+ years of finance experience, including Head of Finance, FP&A or Controller leadership at a high‑growth B2B SaaS or fintech startup.
• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or US equivalent) with Big Four or top‑startup background.
• Proven experience owning the operating model and presenting to boards and investors.
• Hands‑on experience supporting a Series B+ fundraise, including data‑room preparation and investor Q&A.
• Comfort with multi‑entity, multi‑currency reporting (UK and US operations).
• Minimum 2:1 bachelor's degree from a leading university.
